This year I decided to celebrate my twenty-something birthday in Noosa.
You might remember last year’s big champagne drenched soiree at the Shangri-la in Sydney. I don’t – I passed out around 10 pm and woke up with a helium balloon tied around my ear and nipples poking out of the mesh in my little black party dress. Thanks ladies.
As I was saying...I took a Friday afternoon flight to paradise via Virgin airways. Ciao city!
Hello Noosa! First stop: coffee at Belmondos followed by a browse down Hastings Street.
I’m currently transforming my apartment from a jail cell into a chic Sydney residence and have been searching for wall art but don’t want it to cut into my snacks budget.
Lamington sounds like a snack but its actually a really cute homewares boutique located at the Noosa Woods end of Hastings Street. Here you’ll find plenty of cool wall graphics for a very reasonable price and a mannequin with pubic hair sticking out the sides of her bikini. Told you, you’d love it!
While Hastings Street has a lot of niche stores, it also has a lot of chain stores like Witchery and most recently Seed Heritage.
Birthday preparation done! The wall graphics - a present to myself and the casual playsuit from Witchery - my little black bday number.
DAY OF BIRTH 2015!
I woke up to my dad singing in the kitchen. He gave me the option of vegemite on toast or a birthday brunch at Bistro C...
Bistro C Baby!
We gave each other a super cool high five when we scored ourselves the most sought after seats on the boardwalk. Perfect for ‘sussing out’ the swell and deciding on which point of the beach to surf at.
Without looking at the menu, Dad chose the big Big Breakfast and I had a plate of sides. Check out that serving of bacon! The smashed avo would have been my second choice.
At 12 pm I left dad to go for his surf and I strolled down the street to meet mum at Sails restaurant for lunch.
Sails is not just another restaurant, it's the venue of choice for weddings and luxe private events. Mum managed to get us the best seats in the house, which even made Noosa’s leading politician (behind) green with envy.

We splurged on arancini, crispy duck, crab lasagna and apple pie to finish. Sails is a once in a lifetime culinary experience for anyone visiting Noosa.
After our final glass of champagne I got a call from a couple of my best girlfriends. We met at the Noosa Heads Surf Club settled into a table on the deck and drank copius amounts of wine into the late afternoon.
It was the perfect end to a spectacular day and a beautiful, understated birthday - a classy contrast to the booze, boobs and hotel rooms of last year.
Noosa is a stunning backdrop to any special event. Planning a trip to Noosa? Click any of the links above to find out more details on my favourite places to eat and drink. Not sure what to wear? In Autumn this outfit from Runway Scout will take you from brunch at Bistro C to afternoon drinks at Noosa Surfy effortlessly - you may even pick up a surfer in the process with those killer pins!
Wait I almost forgot to tell you what I got! My twenty something birthday present was...
A website makeover for HOB! AND a trip to New York in June/July.
I might have to take a look at that snacks budget, it's time to prepare for a feast of a lifetime!
Happy belated birthday, Noosa looks beautiful. Super jealous of your trip to NY but looking forward to reading about your experience there! -myoniochalasia.blogspot.com x
